Problem getting reservations from La Spezia to Como for travel with a Eurail Italy Pass

I'm trying to book reservations for my eurail Italy pass. I've booked all except the La Spezia to Como leg on April 22, 2016. I managed to book train reservations before and after the 22nd. Every time I try to make a reservation for La Spezia to Como it comes up "expired" when I go to check out. Why?

    Hi Fran,

A connection from La Spezia to Como involves changing trains once in Milan along the way. Reservations would only be required on the first segment, from La Spezia to Milan ('InterCity' or 'Frecciabianca' trains). The trains from Milan to Como don't accept reservations, so the rail pass is all you would need to board. Therefore, you would only do your search from La Spezia to Milan when you go to purchase the reservations on our site. To do this, you would click on 'Book your Rail Pass Reservations' on our homepage (www.raileurope.com), enter a search for trains from La Spezia to Milan, and indicate that you'll be traveling with a 'Eurail Italy Pass'.

Once you begin the checkout process, you would have 19 minutes to submit your order. If you are still not able to submit your request for this reservation, you would call us. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays.

For planning purposes, you can just view schedules for the connecting trains from Milan to Como by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' (instead of 'Book your Rail Pass Reservations') on our homepage and entering the cities. Since your objective would just be to view schedules and reservations aren't possible, you would not indicate that you'll be traveling with any type of rail pass when entering your search criteria for this leg.
