Question about gift card deal

One of my family members is going to Switzerland with his wife this summer. I was thinking about taking advantage of the $75 bonus gift card deal. How does that work? The website is a little unclear. Can I buy them a $500 gift card, and then they will have $575 to use towards two rail passes (which cost $1030 total)?

    Hi Cody,

Yes, that's correct. Under the current promotion (which ends May 10th), you would purchase the $500 gift card and then an additional $75 would be applied once they submit their order for their passes. For the Rail Europe Gift Card, you would click here:
    • Thanks for the response. Do you know if use of the 500 gift card and the additional $75 would interfere with any future discount? For example, there was a deal for 15% off travel passes a weeks or two ago. Would you be able to use the gift card in conjunction with such an offer?

Also, as part of the question, can you clarify if booking can be made after May 10? The way its written, it seems like the gift card needs to be purchased before May 10, but the booking can be made anytime after and will receive the $75 promotional bonus.

Only one coupon code can be used at a time. Therefore, if a particular promotion requires that you enter a coupon code, then it would not be possible to gift card coupon code, as well. If a promotion does not involve entering a coupon code, then you would be free to use the one from the gift card.

The current promotion for the gift card ends on May 10th. You would just have to purchase the gift card by then, but the recipient can still use it at any point after.
