Single country pass from Paris to Edinburgh? How many days of travel would it count as to take a train from Reims to Paris & then Paris to Edinburgh? Edinburgh, through France & back.

I'm flying into Edinburgh to visit a friend, and afterwards want to travel to France. From what I've gathered, a good option would be to book a way one ticket from Edinburgh to Paris, and a 3 or 4 day travel pass for France. I have a few questions about this:

1) Can I use the single country rail pass for travel form Paris to Edinburgh (My flight leaves from Edinburgh so I need to end up back there)?
2) Also, if I were in, say, Reims, and took a morning train from Reims to Paris, and then on the same day took a train from Paris to Edinburgh, would this be counted as just one day of travel?

Thanks! Any other info is appreciated!

    Hi Taylor,

There is no rail pass that will combine the United Kingdom with any countries on the mainland continent of Europe, so there is no pass that would combine both the United Kingdom and France together.

Additionally, there are no direct trains that connect Edinburgh and Paris. A connection from Edinburgh to Paris would involve changing trains once in London along the way. Therefore, a connection from Reims to Edinburgh would involve changing trains in Paris and London en route.

With regard to the information provided, the best option for your travels would be dependent on many variables and there would be several possibilities. If you'd like assistance determining the best option for your travels, you would have to call us at 1-800-622-8600.
