Rail pass for England

Hi

I am from England and currently hold a UK passport but have been living in canada for the past 3 years. I have a canadian permanent residence card and i am planning to visit some friends and family in october with my girlfriend and her daughter which are both canadian and hold canadian passports.

What kind of passes do i need to buy to travel around England only with them ?

I see different passes on your website but i am confused over which ones to buy we will not be travelling together all of the time but most of the time we will. Also do these pases work on the london underground trains ?

    Hi Colin,

The Canadian permanent resident card would be sufficient for you to be eligible to purchase the rail pass.

If you will just be traveling within England, you would purchase the BritRail England Pass. If you also plan on visiting Scotland and/or Wales, then you would purchase the BritRail Pass.

In general, most rail passes would not cover travel on metro/subway systems within cities, including the BritRail Passes, which would not cover the London Underground. To cover travel on the Tube and buses within London, you would purchase a London Travel Card in addition to your BritRail England Pass or BritRail Pass. To purchase the London Travel Card, you would click here: http://www.raileurope.ca/activities/l... .

You might also want to consider one of our various other city passes for London. You can browse our city passes for London here: http://www.raileurope.ca/en/activitie... .

If you ever wish to see what city passes may be offered for a particular city, you would click on 'Activities' from the homepage of our website and then identify the city and country where prompted.
