Frustration trying to book reservations in the Benelux

Hi, I'm trying to find out how to make reservations with my Benelux pass for the following trips: Den Haag to Brussels (April 21) and Brussels to Luxembourg City (April 28). I keep getting this message: The fares you requested are not available with the selected rail pass. Please select a regular fare and proceed to the next step.Does this mean I don't need to book reservations on these trips? Or does this mean that my pass will not work on the Eurocities lines? Thanks!

    Hi Cordee,

Rest assured, the rail pass is valid on these trains. That error message is severely misworded and incorrect, so you can just go ahead and disregard it.

    Den Haag to Brussels

Connections from Den Haag to Brussels take about 2.5 hours and involve changing trains once in Roosendaal along the way. Trains from Den Haag to Roosendaal and Roosendaal are IC (InterCity) trains that don't accept reservations, so the Eurail Benelux Pass is all you would need to board.

Schedules for the trains from Den Haag to Roosendaal are currently not able to be viewed our website. For you reference, they depart every 30 minutes throughout the day, and the ride takes about 1 hour.

Schedules for the direct trains from Roosendaal to Brussels also are not able to be viewed on our website. The direct service from Roosendaal to Brussels only runs on weekends. It departs hourly throughout the day, and the ride takes about 1hr17min.

    Brussels to Luxembourg

From Brussels to Luxembourg, you would take a direct IC train. The ride takes just under 3.5 hours. These trains also do not accept reservations, so the Eurail Benelux Pass is all you would need to board.

For planning purposes, you can use the route search feature under 'Book Train Tickets' on our homepage (www.raileurope.com) just to view schedules between Brussels to Luxembourg. To view the schedules for this route, just be sure the 'No' button is checked where it asks you 'Are you traveling with a rail pass?'.
