Roundtrip on Bernina Express Chur to Tirano in 1 day

3 questions ....
# 1 We want to take the Bernina Express from Chur to Tirano, arriving at 12:45 pm and then back again to Chur in the same day. We will have a 3-day Swiss Travel Pass. (Can we do this on the pass in 1 day?)
#2 I see 1 train back listed at 2:26 pm that only takes 2 hours. The last one leaves at 3:00 pm and takes 4 hours. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE ? (why one takes twice as long)
#3 And..... Will an hour and 20 minutes be enough time to grab some lunch in Tirano before the return trip?

    Hi Pat,

    1. For travel with a rail pass, you would check schedules and purchase reservations for the Bernina Express by clicking the 'Seat Reservations' tab on our homepage (www.raileurope.com), entering the route, and indicating the type of rail pass with which you'll be traveling (i.e. the 'Swiss Travel Pass')

For a round-trip from Chur, you would do one search for a one-way from Chur to Tirano and then another search for a return from Tirano back to Chur.

    2. The trip duration for the 2:26pm departure you're referring to is actually listed incorrectly on our website. This trip would also take 4 hours in duration. We apologize for any confusion, and we hope to have that information corrected on our site very soon. There are no options from Tirano to Chur that would take a shorter amount of time.

    3. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how long it would take to get lunch in Tirano. There should be places right by the station. You may have to get something 'to go'.
