San Pietro Station lockers and ticket purchase

Are there lockers available at the San Pietro Station in Italy than we can leave our luggage for a few hours? Also, can we buy tickets and board at this station for a train to Civitavecchia?

    Hi Phyllis,

If you are referring to the San Pietro station in Rome, that is more like a metro station that would not have locker storage or any left luggage service. Regional trains from Rome to Civitavecchia; however, do happen to stop at the San Pietro station. You would want to be sure to choose one of these trains when purchasing your tickets, as there other trains on this route that will not stop at the San Pietro station.

You would purchase tickets by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com.

You can identify the regional trains by the train numbers when you pull up the results of your search on our website. The regional trains from Rome to Civitavecchia have either a 4 digit train number that begins with a '2', '3', or '7' or else they will have a 5 digit train number, and the tickets we issue for these trains would show 'Rome Termini' as the station of departure. However, if you book a ticket for such a train on our website, you can still use it to board at the San Pietro stop instead of the Termini station, if that's more convenient for you. These trains will depart from the San Pietro station about 18 to 20 minutes after they are shown to be departing from the Termini station.

When you pull up the results of your search, the trains labeled as 'Trenitalia Le Frecce' or 'Trenitalia Intercity Plus' are the trains that will not stop at the San Pietro station in Rome.

Trains in Italy can be booked once within 90 days of an intended date of departure.
