    Hi Maggie,

Trains from Madrid to Seville are AVE high-speed trains, which require reservations.
That does mean you will be assigned a specific seat.

If you purchase a ticket for one of these trains, the reservation would be automatically included.

You would purchase a regular ticket from Madrid to Seville by searching the route under 'Find Train Tickets' on the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com.

Otherwise, if you'll be traveling with a Eurail Pass (a Eurail Spain Pass or a Eurail Select Pass), you would have to take the step of purchasing a reservation, which would be a separate document.

For travel with a Eurail Spain Pass or a Eurail Select Pass, you would purchase reservations from Madrid to Seville by clicking the 'Seat Reservations' tab on our homepage (www.raileurope.com), entering the route, and indicating the type of rail pass with which you'll be traveling.

Generally, trains in Spain can be booked once within 90 days of an intended departure date.
