Senior (over 60) wants to be primary passenger on Combo Ticket, order form will not permit this and wants to make younger person the primary

I am over 60 and am traveling with my girlfriend, age 58. If I try to register properly, as an over 60 senior, the form won't let me list myself as the primary pass hold and instead wants to list my girlfriend. Since, she has never traveled to Europe before, I want my name to be the primary name on the pass.

Also, the price for one senior and one adult, traveling Combo, is the same as it would be if two adults. If I lie about my age on the form, I can get my name listed as the primary name on the pass, but I don't want to have a different age on my rail pass than the age which appears on my passport. I've put in a call, but if I can get a valid answer here, that would also be helpful. Thanks.

    Hi Brad,

It sounds as though you are referring to a pass that offer 'Saver' rates, and the Saver rate happens to be lower than the Saver rate. To be eligible to receive the Saver rate, there would just have to be 2 or more passengers traveling together at all times. You would be quoted the Saver rate by clicking 'Yes' where it says 'Special prices are offered for 2 or more travelers. Is everyone in your party traveling together at all times?' on the page for the pass you are attempting to purchase. Even if you indicated above that you are a Senior, you would still be quoted the Saver rate, instead of the Senior rate, if you clicked 'Yes' for that question and the Saver rate is lower than the Senior rate (it is also possible that specific pass you are attempting to purchase does not even offer Senior rates.)

Also, there are no "primary" names on passes. If you purchase a pass booked at the Saver rate, then both of your names would appear on the pass. Otherwise, you would be issued separate passes, one for each of you.

Only certain rail passes offer senior rates. If you will be purchasing a rail pass for your travels and the particular pass you are interested in does not offer a senior rate, then it is possible that a Saver rate will be offered in its place for that pass.
