If I buy the rail pass, is it possible / easy to make advanced reservations online? How?
For example, I am hoping to do Barcelona -> Madrid on May 4th, and Madrid -> Barcelona on May 6th. If I buy the Spain Railpass, is it possible to reserve seats ahead of time? How do I do this?
Thanks!

1Hi David,
On trains between Barcelona and Madrid, reservations would be required in addition to the rail pass. Therefore, you would not be able to board these trains with just the pass. You would book reservations and check the reservation costs by clicking on 'Book a Reservation for Your Pass' from the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. Trains in Spain can be booked at any point within 60 days of an intended date of departure. -

I am buying a 4 day german rail pass and wanted to make a reservation on the city night line train from berlin to munich in a double deluxe compartment. there is a notice that says a valid rail pass that covers the route is required and when i click read more there is a mention of "City Night Line Passholder Deluxe Double". Does a 4 day German Rail pass cover this or must I purchase another rail pass? I tried calling for immediate assistance but between the automated system and the hold times gave up after 30 mins.

I believe your pass will cover but for overnight trains there is an extra charge in conjunction with your pass and a reservation is required. Reservations are only accepted two to three months in advance.

While most trains in Europe can only be booked within 60 or 90 days of an intended departure date, the City Night Line trains are an exception, as they are (ideally) able to be booked up to 180 days in advance of a departure.

Hi there,
I'm travelling with a InterRail Global Pass and would like to take train(s) from Zurich to Paris (via Strasbourg, Strasbourg-Paris with TGV) on next Monday (29th of July).
Where can I make a reservation for this connection and buy a supplement/extra-charge, if needed? Is it possible to get this online? Or do I have to go a station - for example in Innsbruck, where I will be the day before?
Thank you very much for your help!
Regards
Holger
