  • Every year, most countries in Europe undergo a summer schedule change. It is the responsibility of the operating train companies to load the fares and schedules into the international databases used by Rail Europe. Due to the annual summer schedule change, many fares and schedules for travel later than June 10 are not yet available for purchase. We anticipate that the fares and schedules for travel after June 10 will be available by early to mid May.

You may continue to check online if the fares from Madrid Puerta de Atocha to Malaga have been loaded into the system. If you wish to request a schedule based on the winter schedules, you may call us at 888-438-7245 and one of our travel consultants can place an order on pending (with applied credit card). Once the schedules are loaded into the databases, we will confirm the trains and email the Spain tickets to you.

  • Hi Marcia,

The comfort or first class on the AVE trains in Spain will offer more room, less seats, more space for luggage and also on the longer distance trains you would get a meal service.

The second class seats are more like airline seating and you do have the option to purchase meals on board the train.
