Specific Ticket Time

I am flying into Paris and want to buy a train ticket for Avignon but I'm not sure of the time. Is it possible to exchange for a different ticket as long as it is the same day of travel if needed?

    Hi Stephanie,

Trains from Paris to Avignon are TGV trains that do require reservations. Therefore, when you purchase tickets, you would be booked on a specific train.

However, TGV trains offer certain rates that are able to be exchanged locally. When you pull up the results of your ticket/schedule search on our website, you would find the exchange and refund policies for a particular fare that's shown by clicking on the 'View' button under the cost. After you click 'View', a box will expand out underneath with the 'Ticket Flexibility' options ('Flexible', 'Semi Flexible', Non Flexible'). For the actual exchange and refund policies, you would click 'Read More' next to these options. Be sure to read all the text that displays, because, for these trains, different policies may apply to tickets issued as paper tickets than to tickets issued as 'print-at-home' or 'print-at-station' e-tickets.

Please note, our website has two different entries for Avignon: 'Avignon TGV' and just 'Avignon'. 'Avignon TGV' refers to the Avignon TGV station, and 'Avignon' refers to the Avignon Centre station. Most trains from Paris to Avignon will only arrive into the Avignon TGV station, but there are some that arrive into the Avignon Centre station. Therefore, you can type either one of these in the arrival field when doing your search on our site for trains from Paris to Avignon, but you will get more options by typing 'Avignon TGV'.
