Swiss Travel Pass or Eurail Pass

Hi,

Please suggest the right train pass for my entire Europe itinerary. I land in Paris, train to Geneva - spend 8 days in Switzerland, 6 days in Salzburg, 2 days in Munich, return to Paris and fly out of Europe.

I would like to get all the discount options on Swiss Mountain Trains as well.

  • Thank you.

My itinerary is intact. I would be taking Hi-speed train from Paris to Geneva. From Geneva, I will be travelling throughout Swiss attractions using trains for 8 days. Then, from Zurich I will take a train to Salzburg where I will stay for 7 days and take day trips to surrounding places by bus/train. Finally, take a train from Salzburg to Paris and leave out of Europe.

I am aware that for local trains in Swiss, "Swiss Travel Pass" is the best option. My question is whether it is better to use Eurail pass to include other trains along with Swiss local trains. Please suggest.
