Swiss Pass Validation Confusion

I received my Swiss Pass, and it says I must validate it on or before a certain Date. I will be in europe, but not in switzerland when that date passes. Can Any European Train Station Validate My Passes?

    Hi Scott,

The Swiss Pass would just have to be validated prior to using it to board your first train. Also, the pass would have to be validated within 6 months from the date it was purchased.

Technically speaking, the Swiss Pass would have to be validated at a station in Switzerland, but you could also have it validated on board an internationally operating train heading for a destination in Switzerland.

  • Ok, I think I need to get my passes re issued, or can you send me an extension?. I am a day shy on when I can get them validated.
Using your website when I made my order, it didn't specify that I needed to be in Switzerland within 6 months of placing the order, only that I needed to be in Europe. So I ordered them based on that. I will be in Italy prior to Switzerland, and my train doesn't go directly to Switzerland from Bressanone/Brixen, Italy. I must go via Innsbruck,Austria, where I change Trains to a Swiss bound train.
