Bern-Murren, Murren-Grindelwald, Grindelwald-Bern. Swiss Pass or Point-to-Point Tickets?

Hello!

I need some help in choosing the correct pass vs point to point tickets for my client.

If you can guide me, this is what they are planning and need train tickets for:

2 adults
1 child ( 14 years old)
Traveling first class

July 5 Bern to Murren ( their flight to Bern arrives around 10:30 AM)
July 7 Murren to Grindewalde
July 10 Grindewalde to Bern ( their flight to Bern departs around 5:00 PM)

I don't know if the best thing to do is buy them point to point tickets or a pass?

Thank you in advance for any help!!

    Hi Yvette,

You can check costs for the Swiss Pass by clicking 'Find a pass' at the top of the homepage of our travel agent website and then choosing Switzerland from the drop-down menu on the screen that appears.

Generally, you would determine your overall most economical option by comparing the costs for the Swiss Pass to the cumulative total of the point-to-point tickets for the trains your clients wish to take. However, tickets for trains between Lauterbrunnen and Mürren (as part of a connection from Bern to Mürren) and Mürren and Grindelwald are currently not able to be viewed or booked on our website. Therefore, if you'd like to inquire about ticket costs for these segments and purchase these tickets, you would have to call us at 1-800-622-8600.

For the itinerary your clients are planning, I would suspect that regular point-to-point tickets would be the most economical option, instead of the rail pass.

A connection from Bern to Mürren takes just under 2 hours in duration and involves 2 train changes along the way; once in Interlaken and once in Lauterbrunnen. You can check ticket costs for the portion of this route from Bern to Lauterbrunnen by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage. A connection from Grindelwald to Bern takes about 1.5 hours in duration and involves changing trains once in Interlaken along the way. You can check ticket costs for this route under 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage.
