If I miss my return from La Spezia to Florence, can I use my tickets on a later train that same day?

If I miss my return train from La Spezia to Florence, can I use my tickets on a later train that same day, assuming the same class of ticket, of course?

    Hi Glenn,

If you purchase tickets from La Spezia to Florence for a connection comprised only of regional trains, only then would the tickets be valid for a later departure. However, for Italian regional train tickets purchased over website, the validity period would not be able to be determined until after the tickets are purchased and issued. For maximum flexibility and a specified time frame of validity (valid for 4 days after the 'first date of validity') for these tickets, you would have to call us to make your purchase. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays.

If the connection you purchase tickets for involves taking an IC (InterCity) train for one of the segments. then that ticket would only be valid for the specific departure time you choose. Therefore, you'd definitely want to purchase tickets for a connection comprised exclusively of regional trains. The connection would involve taking a regional train from La Spezia to Pisa and then another regional train from Pisa to Florence. When you pull up the results of a La Spezia-Florence search on our website, such departures would look like this:

Connections from La Spezia to Florence that are comprised exclusively of regional trains depart once every 1-2 hours throughout the day.
