Train from Malaga to Madrid Airport

On May 7 we will be leaving Malaga for Madrid. We will be staying at the Crown Plaza Airport. Could you tell me which trains I need to book and where do I need to change trains for the airport.

    Hi Sally,

You would purchase tickets from Malaga to Madrid by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage (www.raileurope.com) and entering a route. Trains from Malaga to Madrid are high-speed AVE trains. When you pull up the results of your search, you will see that trains from Malaga to Madrid only arrive into the Puerta De Atocha (station) in Madrid.

The rail station at the Madrid Barajas Airport only services local commuter trains between the airport and the city of Madrid. Adjacent to the Puerta De Atocha station is the local Atocha Cercanías station, from where the trains to the airport depart. From Atocha Cercanías, you would take Line C-1 of the local 'Cercanías' network up to the airport. The Cercanías trains depart once every 30 minutes throughout the day and the ride from Atocha Cercanías to the airport only takes about 25 to 30 minutes. You would pay to board the Cercanías trains locally, by the turnstiles in the station.
