    Hi MJ,

For the German Rail Pass, you would click here: https://www.raileurope.com/pass/german-rail-pass-5913

1 ) The German Rail Pass is valid on the S-Bahn lines in German cities.

2 ) The German Rail Pass is not valid U-Bahn trains in German cities.

3 ) As for trains to/from other countries, the German Rail Pass only covers the following:

    - Cross-border ICE trains to/from Liege and Brussels in Belgium

    - Cross-border EC trains to/from Kufstein and Innsbruck in Austria

    - Cross-border EC trains to/from Bolzano, Trento, Verona, Bologna, and Venice in Italy

The German Rail Pass also covers international 'IC Buses' on the following routes:

    Berlin-Copenhagen
    Berlin-Wroclaw-Krakow
    Dusseldorf-Roermond-Eindhoven-Antwerp
    Dusseldorf-Lille
    Dusseldorf-Liege
    Frankfurt-Hahn-Trier-Luxembourg
    Munich-Milan
    Munich-Prague
    Mannheim-Nuremberg-Prague
    Leipzig-Prague

The German Rail Pass does not cover the full route of trains from Dresden to Prague; it would only cover you up to the border with the Czech Republic. To be covered for the remaining part of the route, you would need to purchase a ticket from the border at Schöna to Prague. This particular ticket can only be purchased locally when you're there. The trains from Dresden to Prague will take you over the very scenic Děčín–Dresden Railway.

As listed above, the German Rail Pass does cover the IC Bus from Prague to Munich. The IC Buses will just require reservations as a supplement to the rail pass. Reservations for the IC Buses are currently not able to be booked on our website. These reservations are currently only able to be booked by calling us at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM CT Monday through Friday.

The German Rail Pass does cover trains from Munich to Salzburg. On these trains, reservations are not necessary, so the rail pass is all you would need to board.

4 ) Trains operating within other countries would not be covered by the German Rail Pass. Therefore, the German Rail Pass would not be valid to cover you on a train from Salzburg to Vienna.

5 ) As mentioned above, the German Rail Pass does cover trains between Munich and Salzburg. However, the German Rail Pass does not cover trains from Munich to Vienna. On the route from Munich to Vienna, the German Rail Pass would only cover you as far as the border at Salzburg. To be covered for the remaining part of the route, you would need to purchase a ticket from Salzburg to Vienna.
