Travelling with a large suitcase from Berlin to Prague

Hi. I am travelling from Berling to Leipzig, and to Dresden, and to Prague with a fairly large suitcase (27 inches = 68 cm height). Is there any place to store my luggage on the train? I may be travelling in a busy summer month. Can the luggage compartment (if there is such thing) be full when it's busy? Does anybody know? Thanks.

  • Dear Nan,

It is the responsibility of the traveler to carry your luggage on and off of the trains. Once onboard you’ll need to find a place to put your bag(s). Small and medium sized bags typically fit on racks located above the seats. Larger suitcases and items can be stored in racks found near the train door entrance.

In addition, you’re responsible for your luggage. The railways assume no responsibility in case of loss or theft of baggage carried on board.

Be advised that when traveling on Eurostar, or any French train, you must properly label your bag(s) with your first and last name. In general, it is a good idea to keep luggage tags on your baggage for easy identification.

Thank you for your interest in Rail Europe,

    Kathryn
