Trip unavailable for online booking.

I am trying to buy tickets (return) between Madrid and Barcelona; departing from Madrid on December 21, returning on December 27. Every time I perform a search, I receive the same message: "This trip is temporarily unavailable for online booking." I've tried several times, on various days, over the past month. Do you sell tickets between those two cities? A ridiculous question, but I don't understand the issue. Please help!

Yes, rest assured, we do sell tickets for the trains between Madrid and Barcelona.

Generally, trains in Spain can be booked within 60 days of an intended date of departure. However, this is the time of year when the annual 'Winter Schedule Change' occurs with some of the rail networks in Europe, including the rail network of Spain. As a result of the Winter Schedule Change, most trains in Spain are not yet able to be booked for dates beyond December 14th, even for dates within the usual 60 day booking window. Until tickets for these trains are made available for purchase by the national rail network of Spain, you would just enter a date prior to December 14th to get an idea of the ticket costs and view schedules when searching the route on our website.

I would then recommend checking back on our website periodically to see when the tickets for your requested travel dates will be able to be purchased. We expect these tickets to be made available for purchase at some point within the next few weeks.

Otherwise, I would recommend calling us at 1-800-622-8600, and we may be able to attempt to confirm tickets for these dates through an alternate source.
