Use EuroRail France-Italy Pass to Get Discounted Greece-Italy Ferry Ticket

Hi I am visiting Greece, Italy and France. In my frist stop Greece, I will not travel by train but will take Patra (Greece) - Bari (Italy) ferry. I alreay bought the discounted cabin ticket (not free deck ticket) using a special offer called "Eurail Regional GR-IT Pass 1st Cl" (I assume it means a pass including either Italy OR Greece, since I also saw a difference discount type called "GR+IT pass" which I think including both countries). Since I will be traveling in Italy and France by train, I am thinking to buy a 4-day Eurorail Fance-Italy pass. I have two quesitons: 1. Will this pass satify the need in getting discount ferry ticket I mentioned above, or I have to get a thread country pass? 2. Since Greece is my first country to visit, can I get my EuroPass validated at Patra Port right before boarding the ferry, or I have to drop by a Greek train station for that purpose? Thanks!
