Can I use Eurail global pass for the internal Trains in Switzerland for which you need Swiss Travel pass or do I have to buy Swiss Travel pass separately?

    Hi Anjana,

Once in Switzerland, a Eurail Global Pass would be valid on trains connecting different cities, just as a Swiss Travel Pass would be. For a trip to the Bernese Oberland/Jungfrau region of Switzerland, the Eurail Global Pass would cover as far as Interlaken but not beyond Interlaken. In contrast, the Swiss Travel Pass would cover to the villages of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen, just beyond Interlaken. The Swiss Travel Pass also generally provides for greater discounts on popular mountain railways (including cable cars/gondolas/funiculars), but the Eurail Global Pass does still provide for discounts. It just depends on the specific mountain excursion. On such mountain excursions, the Swiss Travel Pass would typically allow for 50% discounts, while the Eurail Global Pass would typically allow for 25% discounts; it just depends.

Since those are the only differences, the Eurail Global Pass should be sufficient, and you would not need to also purchase a Swiss Travel Pass.

For the Eurail Global Pass, you would click here: https://www.raileurope.com/pass/eurail-global-pass-5880

For the most comfortable experience, 1st class is recommended.
