    Hi Dave,

There are short, local trains from Hamburg to Pinneberg. Connections from Munich would take about 6 hours in duration and do involve changing trains once in Hamburg along the way.

Tickets from Hamburg to Pinneberg are only able to be purchased locally in Germany. With that being the case, the schedules for this segment are not able to be viewed on our website. For your reference, they depart very frequently throughout the day, it looks like every 5-10 minutes or so. The ride from Hamburg to Pinneberg can take anywhere between 10 and 25 minutes. The trains from Hamburg to Pinneberg are either S-Bahn trains or Nordbahn (NBE) trains.

You would purchase tickets from Munich to Hamburg by searching the route under 'Book Train Tickets' on the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. Trains from Munich to Hamburg are high-speed ICE (InterCity Express) trains. Generally, ICE trains in Germany can be booked once within 180 days of an intended departure date.
