I’m looking forward to our journey

What is the time length of the Chocolate Train

We will be leaving from Geneva. We're trying to estimate whether to book another night in Geneva. Or when we return to Geneva in time to begin train to Lyon. Or begin trip to Lyon from a different town.

    Hi Judy,

Generally, we would not be able to provide schedules on this forum; however, the Chocolate Train is a specific tour that runs once per day on the days that it operates. The Chocolate Train excursion departs Montreux at 8:57 AM and gets back into Montreux at 5:34 PM or 5:57 PM. Keep in mind that its schedules are subject to change.

From May 2nd to June 30th of this year, the Chocolate Train excursion runs Monday through Thursday.

From July 1st to August 31st of this year, the Chocolate Train excursion runs daily.

From September 1st to October 27th, the Chocolate Train excursion runs Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays.

The towns of Gruyères and Broc can still be reached by rail on other days; it just wouldn't be a part of what is known as the actual 'Chocolate Train excursion'.

You can check schedules for trains from Montreux to Geneva and Geneva to Lyon by entering the routes on our homepage (www.raileurope.com).
