Which train passes for first time travelers to Switzerland

My husband and I will be traveling to Switzerland in September for a 9 day stay. We land in Geneva and will travel by train to Grindewald. We plan to travel by train while in Switzerland for sightseeing. We are 64 & 66 years of age. This is our first trip to Switzerland and are trying to decide what train passes to purchase. How do we start this process of buying passes and tickets? We are confused as to which passes to purchase. Any assistance is most appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Sharon,

What you purchase for any itinerary would depend on the specific itinerary itself and various other factors. but the Swiss Travel Pass is an excellent option for any extensive travel in Switzerland. It just depends on what you plan on doing. For information on the Swiss Travel Pass, you would click here: https://www.raileurope.com/rail-tickets-passes/swiss-pass/index.html.

A connection from Geneva to Grindelwald takes about 3.5 hours in duration and involves 2 train changes along the way; once in Bern and then once in Interlaken. A Swiss Travel Pass would cover the full route from Geneva to Grindelwald.

If you'd like assistance determining the best option for your trip, you can call us. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays.
