Will France-Swiss Eurail Select pass also help for Swiss Transit?

I am traveling from Minneapolis to Paris on Oct 2nd and from there will head to Switzerland on Oct 10th.
I would want to know whether to go for a France-Swiss Eurail Select pass? and will that cover travel on city transit systems all over Switzerland, including ferries and buses?

  • Hi Stevie,

The main objective of a rail pass is to cover trains between different cities. With that being the case, a multiple country 'Eurail Select Pass' that includes Switzerland would not cover public transit networks or buses within Swiss cities. In contrast, a multiple country 'Eurail Select Pass' that includes Switzerland does cover regular boat services on Lake Geneva, Lake Lucerne, Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, Lake Biel, and Lake Zurich. The pass would also provide for discounts on some other boat services in Switzerland, including a 50% discount for boats on Lake Constance (Bodensee).

If you ever wish to view the bonuses offered with a particular pass, you would click the 'Travel Bonuses' tab once you have accessed the page for that pass on our website. For the 2 country option of the Eurail Select Pass with France and Switzerland, you would click here: https://www.raileurope.com/rail-ticke....
