Wrote Passport information on ticketf

I read your responses to previous inquiries about "Writing the passport information in on a Eurail pass" The Munich Train Station is refusing to stamp the eurail pass because I wrote the passport information . They wont look at the passports and confirm the passport numbers. They say this is a "mistake" on the ticket. I have a 6:30 am train leaving tomorrow and I went to the train station as soon as all parties arrived in the city. Will I have to pay for new tickets on the train? Will the conductor be able to help me? I cant afford all new tickets!!

    Hi Kathryn,

The rules of the pass do state to not write in your passport number before validating it, which is what Marcia was alluding to in the other post you commented on. It is just generally always the case that the attendants at the station will overlook this infraction and still validate a pass even if the passport number has already been written in. With that being the case and since Marcia had already committed the infraction, I was trying to communicate to her that it shouldn't be a problem.

I would recommend approaching a different attendant at the station or requesting to speak with a manager. Otherwise, you can go to a different station in Munich (such as the Ostbahnhof station or the Pasing station) prior to heading to the main station, as I can't imagine that they would refuse to validate the pass as well.

If you are still not able to validate the pass, you can request a refund by sending it along with a letter to the following address:

    Rail Europe
    Attn: Customer Relations Dept.
    1350 E. Touhy Avenue
    Suite 200E
    Des Plaines, IL 60018
